Societal systems & governance

Designing decision systems where informed people vote on what they know, and policy is chosen using probabilities and evidence instead of intuition.

The aim of this project is to move away from purely intuition-driven governance towards systems where decisions can be grounded in evidence, probabilities and clearly modelled outcomes.

One part of this is thinking about how to let people opt in to voting on issues they understand well, rather than treating all decisions as identical. Another part is using large-scale models to search for policy options that best match the desired outcomes.

This page will eventually track concrete designs, experiments and prototypes, rather than just staying at the level of theory.
